Team

The partners, and the team

The partners set the mandate and carry the responsibility attaching to it. The team is charged with getting projects built, and with keeping them running afterwards.

Foreword

Vindician began in 2014 as a vehicle for private credit. What it grew into follows from an observation that was fairly ordinary at the time: the places in which good infrastructure would change the most are, as a rule, the places long-term capital reaches last. Islands, coastlines and communities carrying a considerable share of the climate exposure and receiving very little patient money against it.

We therefore invest our time in water, energy, waste and commodities, and we stay. What follows is the work of the people who make that mean something: who get the plants built, the water clean and the power reliable, and who live alongside the consequences of what is decided between us.

Stewardship

Kim Forsman

Principal & Managing Partner

Founded the firm and leads its investments. Two decades as a chief executive across a succession of companies, the past ten of them spent almost entirely in small island developing states, on a background in technology, engineering and finance. Sets the mandate, chairs the investment decision, and spends the greater part of his time in the regions the firm invests in.

Natalie Lindo

Partner

Shares stewardship of the firm, with particular attention to impact, governance, and the obligations it carries towards the communities its projects sit in. A journalist before this, at the BBC and at Euronews: a training that suits asking what a project changed rather than what was announced.

The team

On the ground

More than thirty operating partners, venture partners and associates work with the firm, across the Caribbean, Africa and the Indian Ocean and a good deal further afield. Which of them are assembled for a given engagement follows from what that engagement asks of them, so the composition changes from one to the next. Where the firm has nobody close enough to a problem, it engages somebody who is.

Five work in the firm itself, whoever else is assembled for an engagement.

  • Andy McIntyre

    Private Equity & Private Credit

Leads the firm’s private equity and private credit positions, and the structures through which they are taken.

  • Alice Højgaard

    Finance

Runs the firm’s finance: the modelling behind an investment decision, and the reporting that follows it.

  • Tobias Segercrantz

    Head of Impact

Defines what each project is expected to change, and reports on whether it did.

  • Max Bensow

    Firm Operations

Runs the firm’s operations, reporting and counterparty relationships across its jurisdictions.

  • Ethel von Galén

    Executive Assistant

Keeps the diaries, the travel and the correspondence in order across three jurisdictions and rather more time zones.

Joining

Working with the firm

Operating partners, venture partners and associates are added by introduction, seldom by advertisement. Engineers, operators and structurers who have run something difficult in a hard place, and would rather do it again than describe it, are welcome to write. What is useful in a first letter is what you have built, where it is still running, and who maintains it now.
